To effectively enhance the design innovation capabilities of Zhangzhou's manufacturing enterprises and establish an efficient platform connecting them with the outstanding design resources and talent of universities on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, the "Design Empowers, Cross-Strait Collaboration" 2025 Cross-Strait (Zhangzhou) Industrial Design Workshop officially launched on August 15, 2025, under the guidance of the Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, co-organized by the Zhangzhou Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and the School of Art of Minnan Normal University, and hosted by the Zhangzhou Industrial Design Association and Frog Prince Group.
This week-long event will feature mixed design teams composed of industrial design students and faculty from over ten universities on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, including Beijing Institute of Technology, working with companies like Frog Prince Group. The teams will develop designs based on market trends and corporate design direction, navigating the context of consumer upgrading. This event aims to establish a platform for communication and interaction between universities, talent, and enterprises in the industrial design field on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, attracting talent to support product design and development for Zhangzhou's manufacturing enterprises, and fostering internal momentum for transformation and upgrading. On August 15th, the teachers and students first visited the Frog Prince Group's corporate history museum, gaining an overview of the company's operations, including its development history, R&D and innovation, and international presence. They then visited the product showroom, Party Building Promotion Gallery, and Frog Prince Research Center, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the company's product portfolio, non-public Party building efforts, and internal talent development system, laying a foundation for future design practice.
On August 19th, Yan Kaiyong, Deputy Director of the Zhangzhou Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, led a delegation to visit Frog Prince Group to provide support and guidance. The delegation not only gained an in-depth understanding of the progress of the teacher and student teams' design drafts, but also toured the company's design center and product lines.
At the subsequent symposium, Deputy Director Yan Kaiyong fully commended Frog Prince Group's brand development achievements and design innovation capabilities, offering valuable guidance, including "suggesting that teachers and students visit the front-line production workshops to enhance practical experience and gain design inspiration." Frog Prince Group Deputy General Manager Lin Binli stated that the company will fully leverage the cross-strait design talent exchange platform established by the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology to promote design innovation and commercialization, and expressed hope that a mechanism for joint training of cross-strait design talent will continue to be established.
As a benchmark enterprise, having won three awards at the "5th China Straits 'Longjiang Cup' (Zhangzhou) Industrial Design Innovation Competition" and been awarded the title of "2023 China Light Industry Industrial Design Center," Frog Prince Group has been actively promoting design-enabled industrial development. It not only actively participates in various competitions to promote the integrated development of manufacturing and service industries across the Taiwan Strait, but also continuously deepens its understanding of user needs, strengthens product application technology research and services, and strives to become a demonstration base for R&D, design, and talent development in China's infant and child care industry.
Moving forward, Frog Prince Group will continue to deepen open cooperation in the design field, empowering high-quality industrial development through innovation. It will also strengthen cross-strait design talent exchange and training, contributing to the advancement of cross-strait economic and cultural exchanges.
