Frog Prince Academy Launches Course on "General Labeling and Barcodes for Cosmetics"

To help quality management and product development personnel gain a deeper understanding of the latest requirements of cosmetic labeling regulations, Frog Prince Academy organized a special training course on "General Labeling and Barcodes for Cosmetics" on April 30, 2026. The course was led by Wen Wenzhong, Chief Engineer of Frog Prince Group and Vice President of the Academy.

The course focused on the core revisions to the "General Labeling for Cosmetics (Draft for Comments)". Vice President Wen systematically explained the definitions of newly added terms such as electronic labels, expiration dates after opening, and small-sized cosmetics, and detailed the basic principles of labeling, text usage standards, and prohibited labeling content. He also provided in-depth analysis of practical points directly relevant to the daily work of quality management and R&D personnel, such as the order of ingredient list labeling, the definition of trace ingredients, and the use of introductory texts, combining regulatory provisions and case studies to help participants clarify the compliance logic from product planning and formulation design to label review.

In the section on children's cosmetics labeling, Vice Dean Wen focused on the labeling requirements for children's cosmetics, the special regulations for safety warnings, and the explicit prohibition against using sensitive terms such as "food-grade" and "edible." He also used specific labeling examples for sunscreen and aerosol products to remind marketing and R&D personnel to consider compliant label design during the product development stage to avoid penalties later due to improper labeling. The course also systematically reviewed the penalties for labeling violations, distinguishing between the different legal consequences of general defects and serious violations, further strengthening participants' awareness of compliance red lines.

Regarding barcode management, Vice Dean Wen introduced the latest revisions to the State Administration for Market Regulation's "Measures for the Management of Commodity Barcodes," including the rules for using commodity barcodes in contract manufacturing, the filing requirements for overseas registered barcodes, and the technical specifications for barcode size design. He emphasized that commodity barcodes, as a product's "identity card," play a fundamental role in quality traceability and distribution management. Product planning, quality management, and R&D teams must strictly control the printing quality and placement specifications of barcodes during label design and product finalization.

This training closely integrated with the actual work scenarios of quality management and product development personnel. Through the interpretation of regulations, case warnings, and dissemination of standards, it helped trainees systematically master the key knowledge points of cosmetic label and barcode management, further streamlined the compliance link between front-end R&D and back-end quality control, and provided a strong guarantee for the legal and compliant launch of the group's products.
